Data Loss in MAC OS X

Damaged Groups and Incorrect Permissions Cause Data Loss in Mac OS X

Macintosh Magazine

Mac OS X is a multi-tasking operating system that allows you to execute one or more processes at the same time. In some situations, you need to restart your Mac computer to clear several system processes to free system resources. This is the best solution to prevent system freezing. But sometimes when you restart your Mac computer, you encounter gray screen of Mac with a gray spinner.

At this point, system become inaccessible and you can not get into it and use your data. This behavior of Mac OS X system results into critical data loss. In these critical situations, you need to opt for Mac Data Recovery to retrieve lost data from Mac OS X hard drive.

In these serious situations, you are recommended to use the Disk Utility, Zap PRAM and several other standard solutions. But such solutions are not applicable in all these situations. They work in limited situations and could not work around startup problems.

In such situations, it will be worth to carry out complete restoration of your system from the Time Machine backup. Mac OS X Time Machine utility enables you to backup your significant data on internal hard drive, remote storage device and external hard drive. When you restore data from Time Machine backup, the restoration completes successfully and files seem fine. But when you restart your system after restoration, you experience some problems while logging into your system.

In these cases, you could not move files or folders through drag and drop options on your Mac system. When you attempt to open a file or folder, the terminal goes  into spinning beach ball. Spotlight application doesn't work in these circumstances. This behavior make your files inaccessible and need Mac Recovery Software to retrieve them.

Root of the issue
This issue generally takes place because of incorrect permissions or damaged groups. It might be caused by virus infection, file system errors, improper system shutdown and many alike.

Resolution
In order to resolve this problem, you need to format your hard drive and reinstall the operating system. This process may solve your problem, but it also has a downside that it removes all of the data from hard drive.

In these cases, Mac Recovery software are required to methodically scan the drive and retrieve all of the data from it. The Mac Data Recovery is quite easy and safe process using these applications.

Stellar Phoenix Macintosh Data Recovery is the most comprehensive application for quick and absolute recovery. It recovers data from HFS, HFS+, HFSX, HFS Wrapper and FAT file system volumes. The tool is compatible with Mac OS X 10.6, 10.5, 10.4 and 10.3.9.

Machine learning has taken residence at our cities' cores and now we can finally have "smart cities." Cities are a collection of buildings made to provide the structure and safety necessary for people to function, create and survive. Buildings are a pool of ever-changing performance data from large automated systems such as heating and cooling to the people that live and work within them. Through machine learning, buildings can optimize performance, reduce costs, and improve occupant comfort by ...

Poor data quality and analytics drive down business value. In fact, Gartner estimated that the average financial impact of poor data quality on organizations is $9.7 million per year. But bad data is much more than a cost center. By eroding trust in information, analytics and the business decisions based on these, it is a serious impediment to digital transformation.
