ZTE Corporation, fournisseur global d’équipements de télécommunications, de solutions réseaux et de terminaux mobiles, annonce être classé 4ème plus grand fabricant de smartphones au monde au 3ème trimestre 2012 selon l'IDC, fournisseur réputé de services de conseil et d'étude de marché pour le secteur des TIC. Il grimpe ainsi d'une place dans ce classement mondial.
Le rapport de l'IDC, intitulé Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, révèle que ZTE a commercialisé 7,5 millions de smartphones au 3ème trimestre 2012, suivant de près par RIM qui le devance de 0,1 point de pourcentage seulement. Classé n°5 au 2ème trimestre, ZTE a dépassé HTC au cours du dernier trimestre, se hissant pour la première fois dans le top 4 mondial des fournisseurs de smartphones.
Les données de l'IDC indiquent que l'augmentation de la part de marché de ZTE est liée à sa stratégie de diversification menée au 3ème trimestre. Traditionnellement dépendant des ventes réalisées en Chine, ZTE est désormais bien implanté dans les pays développés. Actuellement, 35% de ses smartphones sont vendus sur d'importants marchés internationaux, en particulier en Amérique du Nord.
« La performance de la série de smartphones Grand, notre série phare, est l'un des principaux moteurs de la croissance continue de ZTE dans ce secteur. Cette série comprend à la fois des équipements 3G et des équipements LTE, comme le Grand Era quadricoeur, le Grand X double coeur ou encore le Grand X In basé sur la technologie Intel. Nous avons également lancé au 3ème trimestre le Grand Era U985, qui est le smartphone quadricoeur le plus fin au monde », explique M. He Shiyou, vice-président directeur de ZTE et directeur de la Terminal Division.
« Nous avons considérablement développé nos circuits de distribution à travers le monde afin d'optimiser l'exposition de ces smartphones. Notre équipement phare, le ZTE Grand X, est par exemple proposé par des distributeurs de renom au Royaume-Uni, en Suisse, en Turquie, en Russie et en Italie », précise M. He Shiyou.
Le volume de smartphones ZTE expédiés au cours de l'année 2011 a dépassé 15 millions d'unités, soit une hausse de 400% par rapport à 2010. Après Apple, ZTE est le fabricant de smartphones qui enregistre la plus forte croissance.
