Comincia la partita per milioni di fumatori in tutta l'UE: la Commissione Europea e l'FC Barcelona presentano "quit smoking with Barça" (smetti di fumare con il Barça)

La pionieristica campagna è incentrata sui benefici di una vita senza fumo.

I fumatori riceveranno i consigli personalizzati delle star del Barça.

Da oggi, i fumatori di tutta Europa potranno smettere di fumare con l'aiuto dell'FC Barcelona grazie a uno speciale programma per la salute pubblica.

"Quit Smoking with Barça" (quitsmokingwithbarca.eu), un'iniziativa congiunta della Commissione europea e del Barcellona, adotta un approccio scientifico e innovativo per aiutare chi ama la vita, il calcio e il Barça a smettere di fumare per sempre.

Ultima novità della campagna "Gli ex-fumatori sono irresistibili" (exsmokers.eu) della Commissione europea, che da 2 anni fa incetta di successi nei 27 Stati membri dell'UE, "Quit Smoking with Barça" si basa su "FCB iCoach", uno strumento online e mobile gratuito che offre sostegno e consigli mirati dalla viva voce dei giocatori, dei tecnici e dello staff del Barcellona.

Questa collaborazione senza precedenti tra una società sportiva e la Commissione europea farà leva sul successo della campagna "Gli ex-fumatori sono irresistibili" e sul sostegno di milioni di tifosi del Barça per aiutare molti fra i 140 milioni di fumatori europei a smettere una volta per tutte.

"Quit Smoking with Barça" si basa su FCB iCoach, un programma personalizzato per l'educazione alla salute. Al momento della registrazione, al fumatore viene richiesto di compilare un breve questionario che servirà a determinare il tipo di sostegno necessario per smettere. Sulla base delle risposte fornite, il fumatore riceverà consigli, informazioni e incoraggiamenti personalizzati direttamente dai giocatori, dai tecnici e dallo staff del Barça, tra cui i quattro capitani della squadra, ovvero Carles Puyol, Andrés Iniesta, Víctor Valdés e Xavi, il presidente Sandro Rosell, l'allenatore Tito Villanova e Guillermo Amor.

Durante una conferenza stampa tenutasi al Camp Nou in occasione della partita della Liga spagnola contro l'Athletic Bilbao, il presidente Rosell ha invitato gli appassionati di calcio di tutta Europa a partecipare: "Noi del Barça abbiamo i migliori tifosi al mondo e intendiamo prenderci cura di loro. Il nostro motto, 'Més que un club', rappresenta una vera e propria filosofia di vita. L'impegno sociale che permea tutte le nostre scelte è dunque alla base anche di questa collaborazione con la Commissione europea per l'iniziativa 'Quit Smoking with Barça'. Vietare al fumo il nostro stadio e le nostre strutture è stata una pietra miliare: la prossima viene posta oggi, con il lancio di FCB iCoach. Iscrivendovi a FCB iCoach, riceverete il sostegno di tutta la squadra e i consigli degli esperti del club per aiutarvi passo dopo passo nella vostra battaglia contro la sigaretta. Desideriamo che tutti i fumatori prendano in considerazione l'idea di smettere. Un forte stimolo alla collaborazione tra Commissione europea e Barcellona è stato il comune impegno nei confronti della tutela della salute dei cittadini, ha spiegato il direttore generale per la Salute e la tutela dei consumatori della Commissione, Paola Testori Coggi: "è con orgoglio che oggi annunciamo la prossima fase della missione della Commissione europea che vede come obiettivo la creazione di un'Europa senza fumo. Sono lieta che il successo della pluripremiata campagna 'Gli ex-fumatori sono irresistibili' abbia dato vita a una collaborazione con una vera e propria istituzione del mondo dello sport. Il sostegno dei tifosi

In occasione del varo della campagna, 11 tifosi del Barça di diversi paesi europei sono stati scelti per formare la "squadra" dei primi iscritti a FCB iCoach. Ospiti questa sera alla partita Barcellona-Athletic Bilbao, gli 11 tifosi di "Quit Smoking with Barça" avranno l'onore di portare in campo la bandiera della campagna durante la proiezione di un video realizzato per incoraggiare i fumatori presenti al Camp Nou ad aderire all'iniziativa.

Matteo Michelini, l'italiano di San Giovanni in Persiceto (BO) , nella rosa dei primi 11 tifosi del Barcellona iscritti a FCB iCoach, ha raccontato: "Partecipare a questa campagna è emozionante e stimolante. Dato il mio amore per il Barça, è un vero onore essere qui oggi come rappresentante di questa campagna e del mio paese. So che smettere di fumare è una delle cose più difficili al mondo.
