Misfit Shine gana el CES Top 2 Gadget

LAS VEGAS, 11 de enero de 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Misfit Shine se clasificó en segundo puesto en el Last Gadget Standing del Consumer Electronics Show. El producto sanitario fue un temprano favorito en el voto online de la competición. A pesar del vehemente empuje de los medios sociales y con el mayor número de visitas a la página, Misfit perdió su primer puesto ante Lenovo en el último minuto. Shine también quedó segunda en un voto de audiencia en vivo en el evento, basado en el nivel de aplauso.

Shine es un elegante seguidor de la actividad personal que incluye una línea de accesorios para que los usuarios puedan llevarlos en cualquier parte (zapatos, medias, sujetador, muñeca, cuello, pelo, etc.) y en cualquier ocasión (de etiqueta, trabajo, informal, traje de baño). El usuario simplemente pulsa el dispositivo y un halo de luces aparece para dar cuenta de su progreso hacia su objetivo de actividad diaria. Intemporal en su diseño, Shine tiene un corte de diamante de un sólido bloque de aluminio de grado de aeronave y está diseñado para durar toda una vida. Funciona con la aplicación Shine, que permite a los usuarios establecer sus objetivos de fitness. Para sincronizar Shine, el usuario sólo tiene que colocarlo en la pantalla de su teléfono y los datos se descargan en segundos.  

A la venta en la primavera de 2013, Shine ya ha causado una tormenta en Indiegogo donde ha alcanzado cerca de 700.000 dólares, de casi 7.000 fundadores de 64 países. El consejero delegado, Sonny Vu, dijo: "Estamos muy contentos de que Shine guste a la gente. Creo que la artesanía y atención al detalle dados a Shine han dado como resultado un producto increíblemente elegante que es muy llamativo".

Misfit se centra en desarrollar los productos más ponibles en el bienestar del consumidor y espacio para dispositivos fitness. Está diseñando una línea de productos para inspirar a los usuarios a ser más activos. Misfit se fundó en 2011 por Sonny Vu con John Sculley, el anterior consejero delegado de Apple y Pepsi, y Sridhar Iyengar, cofundador y director de tecnología de AgaMatrix, y cuentan con Founders Fund y Khosla Ventures como principales inversores.
