ASG Software Solutions Launches Mobius Luminist for iPad Access to Corporate Content

In response to increasing mobile workforce trends, ASG Software Solutions today announced the availabilty of ASG-Mobius Luminist, allowing users to easily access corporate content stored in an ASG-ViewDirect® repository directly from an Apple iPad®. Not only does the intuitive app increase mobile workforce productivity by allowing anytime, anywhere access to information, but it also improves security and cost savings by ensuring content access through existing, approved IT systems.

The ASG-ViewDirect Suite brings together all of an organization’s content, regardless of type, platform or environment, to provide a unified view of corporate information. Now, with ASG-Mobius Luminist, that unified information is accessible via an easy-to-use app, improving remote or in-the-field worker efficiency while removing information bottlenecks from having to go through the home office to get access to critical content. With native iPad monitoring features and available applications, organizations can also ensure the security and regulatory compliance of sensitive information by removing the Luminist app or wiping the device in the event it is lost or stolen.

“Information security is a concern for IT decision makers amid the growing mobile workforce trend,” said Erin McCart, director, solutions and product marketing, ASG Software Solutions. “Moreover, business managers are looking to make their mobile workflows more productive. ASG-ViewDirect is widely deployed across multiple industries, including 7 out of the top 10 commercial U.S. banks, as listed by Fortune 500, many of which store, on average, more than a terabyte of information. The Luminist iPad app gives such customers direct access to that critical information, whenever and wherever they need it, without sacrificing information security.

“This is one of the reasons we focused on making the Luminist app extremely easy to use; because, as long as Luminist remains simple and intuitive, employees will be less likely to circumvent approved corporate policies, IT procedures and systems to access content via less secure means – like storing information on their personal devices or in a consumer cloud environment, which puts the company at risk of violating compliance policies.”

With the ASG-Mobius Luminist iPad app, users can browse through folders to find the documents, reports and files they need, or use the search feature to locate content that meets specific criteria or key words. Users can also save searches, folders and documents as “favorites” for quick access to high priority items. For example, sales teams can now have fingertip access to the latest reports, inventory counts, product descriptions and customer orders for faster customer inquiry response times and improved sales. Or, to simplify logistics, the Luminist app makes it easy to view up-to-date bills of lading, packing lists, manifests or other documents required for managing inbound and outbound shipments.

“With the mobile workforce predicted to reach 1.3 billion people by 2015, and with 58 percent of mobile tablet users preferring iPads, companies need to support this trend with a secure, yet easy way to access corporate information,” said Dietmar Wendt, executive vice president of global sales and marketing, ASG Software Solutions. “ASG-Mobius Luminist for the Apple iPad is an easy-to-adopt, easy-to-learn, efficient, secure and cost-effective way to make information in ASG-ViewDirect available wherever and whenever employees are working. It lets companies control the use and location of sensitive information while also complying with corporate compliance regulations.”
