TechSmith Announces Plan for Coach’s Eye on Nokia Lumia running Windows Phone 8.1

TechSmith has announced plans to expand Coach’s Eye to yet another platform this summer, Windows Phone 8.1 on Nokia Lumia devices. Coaches and athletes at every level use the app for training, practice and competition with more than 25 million videos analyzed, making it the #1 paid sports App for more than 400 days.

Coach’s Eye has been downloaded in 135 countries, and with this new offering, will allow even more users to experience the magic of on the spot video feedback on Nokia Lumia devices running Windows Phone 8.1.

“Coach’s Eye has always been developed with a mobile first attitude, but we are very excited to now offer a Windows Phone version of Coach’s Eye,” said Brooks Andrus, director of mobile products at TechSmith. “We want to get Coach’s Eye in the hands of as many people as possible, and Nokia, with its Lumia devices, is a great fit.”

Coach’s Eye for Windows Phone 8.1 will allow customers to analyze videos in slow motion, use side-by-side comparison and draw on the screen like you would see in any professional sports telecast. The coaching app is designed to take advantage of the high quality cameras the Nokia Lumia devices provide.

“Imaging is at the heart of Nokia Lumia devices,” said Rick Witham, Director of Developer Experience for Americas Region at Nokia. “Coach’s Eye for Nokia Lumia devices running Windows Phone 8.1 will take advantage of our best-in-class imaging technology enabling sports enthusiasts to train smarter and see results faster.”

Coach’s Eye will continue to push the boundaries of video analysis and establish a community of athletes and coaches that want to create, collaborate and share. Stay up-to-date with Coach’s Eye at www.coachseye.com or by following @CoachsEye on Twitter.

IoT & Smart Cities Stories
While the focus and objectives of IoT initiatives are many and diverse, they all share a few common attributes, and one of those is the network. The current state of the art for Big Data analytics, as applied to network telemetry, offers new opportunities for improving and assuring operational integrity. In his session at @ThingsExpo, Jim Frey, Vice President of S...

The Internet of Things is clearly many things: data collection and analytics, wearables, Smart Grids and Smart Cities, the Industrial Internet, and more. Cool platforms like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Intel's Galileo and Edison, and a diverse world of sensors are making the IoT a great toy box for developers in all these areas. In this Power Panel at @ThingsExpo, moderated by Conference Chair Roger Strukhoff, panelists discussed what things are the most important, which will have the most profound e...
The Jevons Paradox suggests that when technological advances increase efficiency of a resource, it results in an overall increase in consumption. Writing on the increased use of coal as a result of technological improvements, 19th-century economist William Stanley Jevons found that these improvements led to the development of new ways to utilize coal. In his session at 19th Cloud Expo, Mark Thiele, Chief Strategy Officer for Apcera, compared the Jevons Paradox to modern-day enterprise IT, examin...
