Morph Labs Launches New Service for iPhone Developers

Facilitates Creation and Deployment of On-demand Cloud-based Web Applications for the Apple iPhone

Morph Labs has announced a web application support program designed for iPhone developers.

The Morph program brings together resources for iPhone web application developers and allows them to build applications and deploy them to the Morph AppSpace service, a fully managed environment for running web applications.

Supporting Ruby on Rails, Java web applications and Grails applications, Morph AppSpace is an advanced cloud-based Platform as a Service that allows developers to concentrate on building applications and rely on Morph Labs for the deployment and management of the application environment.

In July, Apple opened its online store, the App Store, which at launch offered 550 applications for the iPhone and the iPod Touch. According to Apple, more than 10 Million applications were downloaded in the first three days.

With an estimate of more than 5 million iPhone users worldwide, the iPhone offers opportunities for developers to design and provide services to a new global user base that is looking for innovative and useful applications. This type of potential demand requires a delivery platform that can scale as needed, while keeping the overall costs for the software provider to a minimum. The Morph AppSpace brings together people, technology & automation into a "pay as you grow" business model and on-demand application scaling which are a perfect match for iPhone web applications.

"Our service is a perfect match for developers looking to quickly take advantage of the iPhone ecosystem. The developer can build an application and then immediately deploy it to a Morph AppSpace without the delay or hassles of setting up a web application environment. Within minutes the web application is operational and ready to submit to Apple's App Store," says David Abramowski, CEO of Morph Labs.

Each Morph AppSpace is a fully configured environment ready to serve a web application to the world. Unlike application hosting where developers are required to configure and manage the operating systems, web stacks and databases, Morph AppSpace manages all of the configuration and management and the enterprise quality services necessary to run the web application in the cloud, including the hosting, the delivery platform, the bandwidth, continuous monitoring and up-to-the-minute database backups from as little as $1/day.

To further support iPhone web application developers, Morph Labs has created a developer information area to help consolidate information from a variety of sources. This resource can be found at http://developer.mor.ph/iphone and provides not only information from Morph, but a mashup of information from a variety of sources on the web.

Machine learning has taken residence at our cities' cores and now we can finally have "smart cities." Cities are a collection of buildings made to provide the structure and safety necessary for people to function, create and survive. Buildings are a pool of ever-changing performance data from large automated systems such as heating and cooling to the people that live and work within them. Through machine learning, buildings can optimize performance, reduce costs, and improve occupant comfort by ...

IoT is rapidly becoming mainstream as more and more investments are made into the platforms and technology. As this movement continues to expand and gain momentum it creates a massive wall of noise that can be difficult to sift through. Unfortunately, this inevitably makes IoT less approachable for people to get started with and can hamper efforts to integrate this key technology into your own portfolio. There are so many connected products already in place today with many hundreds more on the h...
